Total observation time: 5.75 hours
Official Counter: Gordy Adamski
Observers: Allen Larner, Brenda Tekin
Visitors:
Rose Thomas helped out today.

Weather:
Gorgeous day! A bit breezy starting out from WNW 12-19km/h. Winds began
to diminish and more variable at upper lever below a lovely canopy of
puffy white clouds. By 2:30 p.m. no winds and things pretty much had shut
down.;
Temp: 19c > 28c;
Humidity: 50% dropping to 38%;
Bar.Pressure: 1016<1014;
Cloud Cover: mostly cloudy but in a very good way with gator-scale like
white puffy clouds against bright blue background making it relatively
easy to spot some of the high sailing raptors.;
A bit more haze on both sides of the ridge now that front has pushed
through.
Raptor Observations:
And the Red-tails keep a'comin! The season's not over and who knows, but
maybe there's a few more to push it to 2nd highest season. A few more
Cooper's flew past in addition to two Red-shouldered (one photographed)and
a non adult-male Northern Harrier.
An adult Bald Eagle at 11:12 a.m. flew in low, well below eye level
between observers and the interstate cut-through to the east. It circled
a few times before shooting past along east side of ridge, well below eye
level, probably flying straight over home of counter Bill Gallagher.
The second BE of the day, an immature at 1:43, put the count at 3rd
highest.
A single American Kestrel late in the afternoon gave us a total of 7
species for the day.
Non-raptor Observations:
Lots of grasshopper flying around in addition to an abundance of Ladybug.
Mourning Cloak - 1
Monarch Butterfly - 1
Predictions:
Clouds with slight chance of rain.
