[va-bird] Rusty Blackbird, Red-breasted Nuthatch, Purple Finches & White-crowned Sparrows, Loudoun Co

ANS sponsored a field trip to several locations in central Loudoun Co today.
The trip began w/a short visit to ANS's Rust nature Sanctuary in Leesburg,
proceeded on to the Dulles Wetlands, Banshee Reeks & finished up in the
afternoon in Luckett's.
The highlights of the trip included hatch-year Red-headed Woodpeckers on
Banshee Reeks, several (three or four) Red-breasted Nuthatches near the pond on
the Rust Nature Sanctuary, a Rusty Blackbird on the Dulles Wetlands, Purple
Finches along The Woods Rd on the east side of Banshee Reeks and on Limestone
Branch School Rd near Temple Hall Regional Park and White-crowned Sparrows on
the east side of Banshee Reeks near The Woods Rd & along Hibler Rd. We also
had late Yellow-billed Cuckoos (heard at Banshee Reeks), Eastern Phoebes, Gray
Catbird and Brown Thrasher.
