[va-bird] Mason Neck NWR notes

Hello all,

I went on a non-birding walk today with my non-birding SO today down at
the Mason Neck NWR (Lorton, VA). While most of the time the woods were
quite quiet, we had three birds that made my day (and so I figured I'd
report to some folks who might care). :)

The highlight of my day happened within the first 10 min. Quiet peeping
led me to a great view of a GOLDEN CROWNED KINGLET (a life bird for me and
this one showed me the bright orange crown and everything!)

Figuring that nothing could top it (and it didn't really), our other two
highlight birds were a NORTHER HARRIER over the cove, and a BROWN CREEPER
on the walk back to the car.

The usuals (chickadees, titmice, and woodpeckers) thrived...

Not bad for not even really looking for birds!
