These last few mornings I've had large volumes of Robins winging and
fluttering through my back yard. From 7:45 to 8:30 this morning I roughly
counted
180 Robins. Other bird activity has been high as well. The eastern phoebes,
hermit thrushes, and yellow rump warblers all seem to be settling in for the
winter again this year. This mornings list follows. On the short side has been
the
finches. I have one pair of purple finches visiting the feeders and haven't
seen a house finch yet this fall. Also there are very few goldfinches around.
The Cedar Waxwings are still increasing with about 70 this morning. The
resident pair of otters were playing in the large beaver pond down off the east
end
on the deck this morning as well, the whole time I was out.
