Today I saw a Loggerhead Shrike near Elkwood in northern Culpeper County
near the intersection of Rt. 673 (Newby's Shop Road) and 674 (Kelly's Ford
Road). To reach this area from Rt. 29 in Elkwood, take Kelly's Ford Road
southeast for about 3 miles and turn right onto Newby's Shop Road. Drive
about 200 hundred meters to the first red-cedar lined fenceline, just before
you get to a house on the right. The shrike was in the red-cedars and other
trees on both sides of Newby's Shop Road.
