Mostly birded at "The Pocket" from Powhatan's
grave site in the Pamunkey Reservation on the
Pamunkey River, and at a private wildlife reserve
on the other side of "the pocket". This private
wildlife reserve has a large fresh-water pond and
also looks out over "the pocket" and this is
where most of the Aythya and dabbling ducks were.
The tide was high so shorebird numbers were low.
(Other locales birded earlier in the day are in
parentheses).
