The regular monthly bird walk at the Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve in central
Loudoun County will occur on Sat., Nov. 9 at 8:00 a.m. at the Visitor
Center/Manor House. Everyone is welcome to these bird walks which are
sponsored by the Friends of Banshee Reeks (www.bansheereeks.org) and the
Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy (www.loudounwildlife.org).
Directions to the Nature Preserve can be found at www.bansheereeks.org.
Also, anyone who may be interested is invited to the Friends of Banshee Reeks
Annual Meeting on Saturday, November 9 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at the Oatlands'
Carriage House, on the grounds of the historic Oatlands Plantation (on Rt. 15
about a mile west of Banshee Reeks).
Join us for the 2002 Annual Meeting featuring a special program by Chris
Swarth, well-known naturalist and Director of the Jug Bay Wetlands Sanctuary
who will talk about The Importance of Preserving Natural Areas. We also hope
to distribute our up "off the presses" Birds of Banshee Reeks list. Plus,
enjoy hors d'oeuvres, beverages, good friends, and a year-end report on the
Friends' activities in support of Banshee Reeks and an update on our efforts on
the Courtland Farms Rural Village.
