I skipped work and spent a gorgeous day in Highland Co. Best bird was an
American Avocet at the farm pond on Rt. 642 .

I returned in the afternoon just in time to watch a juvenile N. Harrier
flush the Avocet and a dozen Killdeer. The avocet was last seen flying
north.
Other birds included 2 Black -billed cuckoos, lots of Confusing Fall
Warblers (both Black poll and Bay-breasted), 11 Pine Siskins (2 flocks),
and 2 Lincoln Sparrows.
