VA-Birders,
Sharon Lynn, Tom Albright, and I found one, possibly two Cape May
Warblers today at Occoquan Bay NWR along Deephole Point Road. We found
many Yellow-rumps, perhaps 25, and a Common Yellowthroat, but none of
the Palms that had been numerous over the last couple of weeks. A
heavily cropped photo of the Cape May can be seen at

We had gone there hoping for sparrows, but they seem to be very slow in
arriving this fall. We found just one Savannah and a handful of Songs.
Last week I saw a Swamp and a few Fields, and even a Lincoln's about
two weeks ago, but couldn't locate any of those today.
