Birders,
Today was a s l o w day, to say the least. No action till 11:00 (DST) as it
was foggy
and there was no visibility. Clouds/fog lifted and the birds started. We
had a total
of 30 birds from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Like wow!.
Breakdown is as follows:
Osprey l
Sharpie 15
Coopers 6
Shoulder 1
Broadwing 2
Redtail 4
Unident. 1
TOTAL - 30
Other birds of interest 381 Blue Jays
AND the piece de resistance: 2/3 cuckoos, one of which was a Black-billed.
The
others were either one bird sighted twice or two birds, but Yellow-billed
however
you count 'em.
BJ helped hold down the fort very well. That gal has good eyes! Also
lending a hand
were Bob Blakney and his industrial strength bins and a very welcom newcomer
Bruce Jones. Company was excellent; the birds coulda tried a bit harder.
