Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 6.5 hours
Official Counter: Brenda Tekin
Observers:
Visitors:
Several folks from Richmond.
Mike Garst, Dave Hunter
Weather:
Beautiful fall day with no clouds.
Wind: nothing stirring at start of the day. By 9 a.m. standard time
1-5km/h out of the SE increasing to 6-11 km/h by 12 p.m.;
Temp: 18c>19c;
Humidity: 48%>63%
Barametric Pressure: steady at 1023
Cloud Cover: 100% cloud-free throughout the morning; few wisps passed
through. Jet contrails helped break up the bright blue.
Haze returned
Raptor Observations:
Brief flurry of streaming BW and Sharp-shinned then things pretty much came
to a complete halt by 1:30; No BW after the 12 o'clock hour. And nothing
after 1:30 standard time. Surprising, considering great weather and nice
steady breeze. Maybe they were out touring the countryside.
Most of the BW were found sailing high overhead, including a group of 13,
quickly gone in the blink of eye, obviously in a hurry to get on down the
road.
Non-raptor Observations:
Blue Jay - about 60 observed moving through
Chimney Swift - less than 20 today
Am.Tree Swallow - 1
Monarch Butterfly - numbers are winding down with only 11 today.
Predictions:
clouds moving in
