[va-bird] Big Year Update

Hi all,
Just wanted to give an update on my Big Year. My list currently stands at 313!
I?m heading into the 7th inning with 9 months down and 3 to go. Here?s some
lists of birds I have yet to encounter. First, the ?easy? list. The term
"easy? is somewhat
of a misnomer, probably should be called the "should be around somewhere before
the end of the year" list (have to admit "easy" sure is a lot easier to say).
Anyway,
here's the "easy" list:
Greater White-fronted Goose
Tundra Swan (almost embarrassed to admit it)
Golden Eagle
Common Moorhen
Glaucous Gull
Barn Owl
Orange-crowned Warbler
Clay-colored Sparrow
Lark Sparrow
Lincoln's Sparrow
Lapland Longspur
Evening Grosbeak
And then there's the "harder" stuff:
King Eider
Manx Shearwater
Swainson's Hawk
All 3 jaegers
Little Gull
Black-headed Gull
Franklin?s Gull
Black-legged Kittiwake
Long-eared Owl
N. Saw-whet Owl
Cave Swallow
LeConte's Sparrow
Painted Bunting
Yellow-headed Blackbird
After these, it's the ?Wow aren?t we lucky? List..which I won't go into!!
I?m sure most of these birds will be posted should they be seen. However, I
would appreciate a call and/or email if you see any of these or if you have any
suggestions for good spots to look for them.
Thanks for your continued support!!
Mike
