VA BIRDers,
Ed Eder lead the regular Sunday morning Field Trip at Dyke Marsh and reported a
Philadelphia Vireo along Haul Road. A few other warblers like Black-throated
Greens and Magnolias, were noted, and some Pied-billed Grebes and American
Coots dotted the waters of the lagoon.
Haul Road has been cleared of the major obtacles but significant clean up is
still needed. The National Park Service has a clean up day scheduled for Oct
18. Details are copied below. Please come out and help, if only for an hour
or two, as every little bit helps!

> Hello Everyone:
>
> Please join us for the International Coastal Cleanup, which has been
> rescheduled at George Washington Memorial Parkway for Oct. 18, 2003, from
9
> a.m. - 12 noon. The hurricane and related flooding not only caused our
> event date to change, but provided us with much more garbage than usual,
so
> we can use extra help. Please see the link below for more information.
