[va-bird] Lincoln's Sparrows, Fauquier County 5 October 2003

Greetings,
Yesterday morning, Bob Abrams, Joan Boudreau and I spent about ninety minutes
at Sky Meadows State Park, in the field just south of the bridle trail
parking area. We came across no fewer than a dozen Lincoln's Sparrows,
possibly
twice that number. Sue Heath checked the location at about noon or so (nearly
three hours after we left) and with minimal effort was able to find two of the
Lincoln's.
Also found in the field in the morning were 6-8 Indigo Buntings, a small
group of maybe six Savannah Sparrows, three Common Yellowthroats, one Yellow
Palm
Warbler, 8-12 Song Sparrows, 6-10 Field Sparrows, and we may have flirted with
an Ammodramus sparrow, but were never able to get it to pop up.
Cheers,
Todd
