[va-bird] White Pelican, Black Terns, AM. BITTERN & Blackburnian Warbler at Hog Island

Hi All
Isabel is Gone and Hog island AND Craney island are open again to birding. My
wife and I birded Hog from 3 to 5:30 pm on Friday and. We had a fly over of
the white Pelican and there were at least 4 Black Terns flying around the first
pond on right. Had 2 Blackburnians and a Bay Breasted in the 9 spices of
warblers Had a total species count of 58
Bald Eagle, Merlin, Brown Headed nuthatches at least 50 most I have see in on
place. Mute Swan, Merlin first Am Coot of the season. Pied Billed Grebe,
Spotted Sandpiper and both Yellowlegs.
WE birded Craney from 9 am to 12 noon today with a total species count of 54
Craney Island Highlights
Peregrine Falcon and Northern Harrier 7 species of ducks Green & Blue winged
teal Black Ducks, Am. Wigeon' Gadwall, Mallards, and Northern Shovelers
Wilson's, Black and Golden Plover, 7 Am Avocet, Common Snipe, Pectoral and lots
of peeps and yellowlegs. Large #s of Caspian terns. Savannah Sparrow, and
Horned lark.
