On my regular yard count this morning I noticed a couple Chimney
Swifts flying overhead moving in a SSW direction. Then more appeared either
alone or in two's and three's. They were flying in a straight line, but not
particularly fast or high, like they had just left their roost. By the
time the flight was over I had recorded 45 birds, by far the most I have
ever seen here. The next morning with much colder temperatures I didn't see
any.
