[va-bird] Eurasian Wigeon, Swainson's Hawk, Sandhill Crane, Hudsonian Godwit

Todd Day found a male Eurasian Wigeon, among Americans, in Swan Cove at
Chincoteague yesterday afternoon, as well as a single Hudsonian Godwit in the
same cove, among hundreds of Western Willets. There are also 15 Marbled
Godwits in the area. Later that day, a young light-morph Swainson's Hawk
flew by the Kiptopeke Hawkwatch, found by Bob Anderson and Harry Armistead
and seen also by Day.
Today, a Sandhill Crane flew south by the hawkwatch; then later, it was seen
northbound (also by Day, Ake, Armistead).
The cold front today delivered thousands of warblers, largely Palm and
Yellow-rumped but with other species mixed in, a scattering of mimids,
woodpeckers, waxwings, blackbirds, kinglets, and thrushes to Sunset Beach and
Kiptopeke. Single Sharp-tailed Sandpipers have turned up in Delaware and New
Jersey -- perhaps we're next! Check every Pectoral-like bird carefully!
