NIce cool weather brought us a good flight. Temps were in the 70s all day,
thanks to cool NE winds. And how about landbirds? Great morning reverse flight
of Yellow-rumps and flickers, with scads of other stuff thrown in. First
White-throated sparrow for the fall heard near the platform (ah, cool weather).
The bulk of the flight came from 9 to 1, but it was essentially steady all
day. The last two hours were reserved for Merlin and Peregrines, both dashing
by the watch in typical fashion. Very fun to watch. Season high for Merlin.
