[va-bird] Merlin in local patch

My annual fall birdwalk for the neighbours provided an unexpected pleasure
for me this morning, after everyone else had gone home: a perched adult male
Merlin, on which I could put the telescope. I have seen one or two merlins
previously in my local patch (NV suburbia, between Annandale and Fairfax),
but always as something flashing down the powerline right-of-way.

Also noteworthy is that my local stream retains at least one Green Heron.
