[va-bird] Ruby-throated Hummingbirds

We are now down from 4 to just one very FAT female Ruby-throated Hummingbird at
our home in Stuarts Draft today - Oct. 1. Our "Birds of August County"1998
and update through 2000, by YuLee Larner gives a late date of October 21, 1996.
Although we have four nectar feeders up, "our" hummer prefers the remaining
flowers to feed from - impatiens and penstimon.
I am wondering if these hurricanes coming north with rains will keep the
hummers here longer this year? Can these little birds sense these kinds of
storm systems from this far north?
