Howdy all,
We saw a small push of birds this morning but it dried up quickly. We ended
the day with a total of 39 birds but 34 of them came by 9am. So ugly after 9.
We did catch another EASTERN SCREECH OWL on our first run of the morning
(6:45am). It was another recapture, and probable another from the Center for
Conservation Biology's Saw-whet Owl study. We also caught our first BALTIMORE
ORIOLES
of the season.
Here is the numbers for the day 9/1:
American Redstart 7
Prairie Warbler 2
Black-throated Blue Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 2
Northern Waterthrush 1
Worm-eating Warbler 1
Yellow-breasted Chat 1
Traill's Flycatcher 6
Carolina Chickadee 1
Carolina Wren 2
Field Sparrow 1
Red-eyed Vireo 2
Veery 5
Baltimore Oriole 2
Northern Cardinal 5
Ruby-throated Hummingbird 1 unbanded
Eastern Screech Owl 1 recapture
TOTAL ----------------------------- 39
Rumor has it a cold front is coming. If so, this weekend might be decent. We
could only hope so!!!
Cheers,
Jethro Runco
