[va-bird] NY Monuments, Manassas Battlefield

All,

Many birders turned out for a great morning at NY Monuments.  The day 
started with a Red-breasted Nuthatch tooting from the nearby pines, many 
catbirds whining, and a single towhee calling.  Things were slow after 
that until the sun warmed us up a bit.  We found two Philadelphia Vireos 
and then the warblers started.  Blackburnian, Black-throated Blue, 
Black-throated Green, Magnolia, Black & White, Nashville, Common 
Yellowthroat, Pine, Cape May, Redstart, and Northern Parula.  Amongst 
the warblers was a Blue-headed Vireo (the first I have seen this fall) 
and several Rose-breasted Grosbeaks.  There were many flycatchers 
including wood-pewee, a phoebe, a least, and others that remained 
unidentified.  Many Blue Jays flying over presumably making the flight 
south.  I think that's about.  It was cold this morning, can the 
yellow-rumped warblers be far behind?
