Birders,
Today, Rosemarie and I saw a Loggerhead Shrike on Rt. 84, Highland
County, two miles from junction of Rt. 220. Bird was on north side of
road perched in a Hawthorn Shrub (B---).
Other Highland & Bath County birds included: Ruffed Grouse (2) on
road to Paddy Knob, Philadelphia Vireo at Hidden Valley, Blackburnian
Warbler at Duncan Knob.
Yesterday at Cranberry Glades, WV and Highland Scenic Parkway we saw
Red-Crossbill, Winter Wren; Nashville, Wilson's and Blackburnian
Warblers.
64 total special species for a lackadaisical birding effort.
Happy birding,
George Harris
Orange County
