[va-bird] Birding Augusta County

Hello all
Today after work I did my usual pond checks . Below is what I found . At
Quillen's pond which is doing its usual drying up & producing mud flats for
Shorebirds .
Great Blue -- 1
Great Egret -- 2
Green Heron -- 9
Blue -- winged Teal -- 5
Killdeer -- 8
Greater Yellowlegs -- 1
Lesser Yellowlegs -- 1
Spotted -- 2
Least -- 5
W Snipe -- 4
Groves Pond -- Lyndhurst Rd. just before Quillen's
Great Blue --1
Blue -- winged Teal -- 4
Black Tern -- 1
STP -- Stuarts Draft Treatment Plant
Black Tern -- 1
McCune's Pond
Great Blue -- 1
Wood Duck -- 2
Blue -- winged Teal -- 31
Bells Lane
Great Blue -- 1
Wood Duck -- 5
Smith's Pond -- Swoope
Great Blue -- 2
Wood Duck -- 13
Green -- winged Teal -- 3
Killdeer -- 2
Spotted Sandpiper -- 4
Riley's Farm Pond
Great Egret -- 1
in a plowed field over looking Riley's pond there were Killdeer --46
Semipalmated Sandpiper -- 3
Horned Lark -- 30 +
As I was leaving Smith's pond in an open field I observed 5 Wild Turkey feeding
on grass seed & bugs .
After work tomorrow Pat & I will be heading for the Eastern Shore . Ned stake
out the Upland's & Sharp -tailed !!!!
