All,
While riding the Jamestown to Scotland ferry ?Surry? around noon on Sunday
my wife and I saw a single breeding plumage black tern. It was loosely
associated with some Forster?s terns that seemed to be keeping pace with the
ferry as it crossed to the south. A brief visit to the Hog Island WMA turned
up no American white pelican and the guard who inspected our vehicle for
contraband at the entrance said he hadn?t seen or heard of it for ?several
days.?
