       I think that with the cool rainy weather we've had recently
nighthawks may be having trouble getting enough food and so they were
feeding at a time you normally wouldn't see them.  I know that at my watch
site in Fairfax City I have seen very few flying insects, especially
dragonflies the past few evenings.

> This morning Pat & I birded the western end of Augusta County . First stop
was Shenandoah Mt. nice views of Highland County but no birds were seen or
heard .From there we came down the Mt. to an area of the National Forest
where Elkhorn Lake & the Staunton Dam are located . In this area we hit a
couple of good pockets of migrating song birds with the majority at the
Staunton Dam . Below is a list of birds seen .
