[va-bird] Bobwhite in Falls Church

Monday evening, about 6:30, I looked out my kitchen window at the array of
bird feeders about 10-12 ft. away in the side yard. In addition to the
usual suspects, I was amazed to see a juvenile bobwhite quail pecking around
among about 6-8 mourning doves. It took me a bit to decicde what it was. I
then checked the ID in three field guides. It was indeed a juvenile
bobwhite. I live in a heavily developed 50-year-old subdivision. Never
before have I seen,or heard ( this bird did not call), anything like a
bobwhite in many miles of here. The bird was around again yesterday morning
about 10, and again last evening also about 6:30. Amazing
