[va-bird] Migration

This morning besides enjoying the blessed relief from the heat I was treated to
the bright chip of an American Redstart in my yard. Soon after, a thirsty
female Ruby-throated Hummingbird chirped at me to change the sugar water in the
feeder. I did, and she drank heavily during several visits. The front which
passed through the area with its violent storms last night should bring with it
early migrants. After I do some lawn and garden chores, delayed by the week of
heat, I'm going to look and listen for more birds on the move. I hope the
listserve is full of migrant sightings.
