VA Birders,

What a difference a day makes! Tuesday morning, when it was cloudy and
considerably cooler than the previous days, we had many more birds at Fort C.F.
Smith Park, Arlington, than on our last several visits. In addition to the
YELLOW WARBLER, Barbara Caldwell and I also had what I call an
"Orange-start"--a young male AM. REDSTART. Both warblers came up to the Bird
Stream, but
neither took the plunge while we were there, altho about a dozen other species
drank and/or bathed while we watched. Among the dozen were RED-EYED VIREO,
TUFTED TITMOUSE, GRAY CATBIRD, CEDAR WAXWING, and SONG SPARROW. Other
highlights
were RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD, GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHER, INDIGO BUNTING, and
ORCHARD ORIOLE among the 32 species tallied at the park during the morning.

Good birding,
Val Kitchens
Arlington, VA
