The following shorebirds were present at Cameron Run along Eisenhower
Ave in Alezandria this morning, around 10 am.
Semipalmated Plover
Killdeer
Short-billed Dowitcher
Greater Yellowlegs
Lesser Yellowlegs
Spotted Sandpiper
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Western Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
The western sandpiper and semipalmated plover were in the section of the
creek between Bluestone Rd. and the office parks. Both species of
yellowlegs continue to be present in good numbers, with the majority
being greater yellowlegs. Herons included an immature snowy egret and
two green herons. Near the end where the creek passes under Eisenhower
Ave, a Nashville warbler was flitting among the bushes.
