Hi,
Larry Meade and myself have these bird names to add:
* American Robins
* Ruby Throated Hummingbirds
-there seemed to be one juvenile which was learning
to ward off other Humming birds from its territory. We
were able to see a number of them today.
* Red Eyed Vireo (heard)
* Indigo Bunting
* Red Winged Blackbird
* Large Egrets
* Turkey Vulture (was seen flying over the parking
lot)
* Green Herons
The icing on the cake was at the parking lot where we
saw:
* Coopers Hawk (3)
-one of them seemed to be mock diving at the other
one.they circled overhead for a long time giving us
and 2 other birdwatchers a very good look. It seemed
to me that atleast one of them, when seen against the
light had a dark band running across its wings from
the "wrist" region right upto the scondaries.
Also one little N.Cardinal was seen in its shallow
nest, calling out continously with a tri-note call.
Deapesh.
Fairfax.
