I am writing an article on Black Rails that focuses on recent and present
numbers and distribution, primarily in the breeding season, in all coastal
states from Maine to Florida to Texas. I would greatly appreciate any
information, even anecdotal, about numbers and places. I plan to not
mentionspecific localities out of respect for the birds. All respondents
will be acknowledged in the article, which is already 7,500+ words. Reply
to: harryarmistead@xxxxxxxxxxx[1]. Thanks for any light you can throw on
this still mysterious species.-Harry Armistead, 523 E. Durham St.,
Philadelphia, PA 19119-1225. 215-248-4120.
