[va-bird] White Pelican at Hog Island

Pardon the late posting. We lost a surge protector to lightning on Friday and
again on Saturday. (Better that than a computer.)
Joyce and I made a quick stop at Hog Island on Friday, Aug. 1.
A White Pelican in adult summer plumage was feeding in the water on the
right about half-way in. Also present were about 125 Great Egrets, a few
Blue-wing Teal, Gadwall and many Black Ducks.
It was too hot to bird outside our Explorer.
If you go to Hog Island, be prepared for a security check.
