[va-bird] Birding after work

Hello all
After work this afternoon I checked out a few places to see what the recent 
storms dropped in . On Bells lane a couple of shorebirds were still around . 
Least sandpiper  -- 3 & one Short - Billed Dowitcher . On Smith's in the Swoope 
area there were about 20 Killdeer & 2 Solitary Sandpiper . Also an Adult Black 
-crowned Night Heron with one Imm. B C Night Heron . At McCune's I watched 
three Cedar Waxwings flycatching . What was so odd about it was that in one 
corner of the pond the algae was so thick that these birds were landing on it & 
taking off from it to catch the bugs .  Any way it was nice to get out for an 
hour of birding .
