[va-bird] Monk Parakeets

Hi All,

I'm new to Virginia and curious as to the distribution of Monk Parakeets in the
state. I've heard reports of the birds in VA Beach, Norfolk, and Newport News.
DGIF has no records for them and Christmas count records for VA show only 2
birds detected in 95.

Monk Parakeets in CT were the topic of my thesis at Southern CT State Univ. CT
carried a very restricted population for years followed by a population
explosion (especially in the last decade).

Any info about th range of Monk Parakeets in VA would be helpful.

Thanks

Steve
