Va-Birders,
I looked for shorebirds at Hunting Creek from the stone bridge over
the GW Parkway this morning at low tide. Scoping to the west, there
were 9 Least Sandpipers, a similar number of Killdeer, and one
Greater Yellowlegs. I could see a total of 8 Great Egrets on both
sides of the bridge. Lots of Ospreys, Ring-bills, and Great Blue
Herons, but I didn't count them. Because of the thick and high
vegetation along the banks of the creek, there was no way I could
find to get to the vantage point at water's edge.
