I used "Birds of the Middle East" (R.F. Porter, et al) when I was in Iraq
and Kuwait. That may be helpful for you... it's a Princeton Field Guide.

This is a bit off location. However I've been in Dubai for a week on
business.
I have been able to do some limited birding in the evenings after work. I
have
posted photos of these birds on my website at www.wildlifehobbies.com
I?ve tried my best to identify each species. But I was not able to get a
Sibley
quality bird book at the local bookstores. Hopefully I haven?t made any
mistakes in identification.
