Hello all
Today Pat & I did a little tour of a few counties today . We started off by
going to Leonard's Pond to see what was there . We had 11 Killdeer , 3 Least
Sandpiper & 1 Spotted . In the duck & goose line we had 6 Wood Duck , 15
Mallard , & 8 Canada Geese .
On the way back into Augusta County we stopped by Rt. 608 in the New Hope area
to see if the Dickcissel's were still around . In between Rts. 776 & 775 we
heard at least two birds . Stopped by my property to check on a few things &
found the usual birds there . The only two migrants were a Redstart & an Indigo
Bunting .
After a short break I had received directions to the possible Western
Meadowlark site . After finding the place we stayed for about half hour & the
only Meadowlarks seen were Eastern . We would of stayed longer but a strong
thunder storm brewed up & the lighting was sharp & spitting the sky open . So
we left & headed home .
