[va-bird] Ring-necked Duck at Riverbend Park, Fairfax Co.; July 16

Hello birders.

I visited Riverbend Park this afternoon and found a
male Ring-necked Duck in the Potomac near the Md.
shore.  It was swimming slowly and dove a couple of
times.  This bird was a few hundred feet upstream from
the aquaduct, near the border with Great Falls Park.

Also, someone reported a Com. Merganser at Riverbend
on July 1 in the sightings log.
