[va-bird] Peregrine behavior

I hiked up the Hawksbill trail in Shenandoah National Park on Sunday =
the 18th and saw some interesting peregrine behavior. I had hoped to see =
at least one falcon, and was rewarded with two! Two peregrines were =
perched atop the rocks, and whenever a turkey vulture would fly right =
over them, they would get upset and start screaming. But soon I noticed =
that a turkey vulture was sitting only a few feet away from the =
peregrines, and that did not seem to bother them. What gives?
