[va-bird] Hummingbirds

After a somewhat slow beginning, the Ruby-throated Hummingbird numbers
reached about an average number for our home. We had four feeders out
and by early June would see four to eight hummingbirds at the feeders
whenever we looked outside. In mid June we began to notice a decrease in
the number of hummingbirds visiting the feeders, and now (July 5), we
have virtually none. I have received at least a half-dozen inquiries
from other people in the Central Virginia area who have experienced the
exactly the same situation. I've never had such a sharp decline at the
feeders in mid summer. Has anyone else noticed this?
You can reply to me off-line, if you like.
Thanks,
Thelma Dalmas
