[va-bird] Mississippi Kite in Campbell County

Today (July 4), John and I observed an adult Mississippi Kite flying over
Saint Peter's Episcopal Church in Altavista. This site is not too far
from the Staunton River. The bird appeared to be hunting and we watched
it for about one minute as it flew back and forth. This is the first
summer record for Campbell County. (We have two September records for
this species.)
