Joyce and I observed a Curlew Sandpiper for some time at Oregon Inlet on July
5. It was near the water at the tidal flats which is nearly enclosed by the
vehicle access area. The bird was in beautiful russet adult plumage. Also in
the same area were:
2 Piping Plovers
3 Semi-palmated Plovers
6 Black Terns (2 adults)
Several Sandwich Terns, Royal Terns and Forster's Terns
Many Least Terns

Least Terns were observed carrying food to the roof of the Outer Banks Mall
(Seamark Grocery) every time we went there over the weekend.
