[va-bird] Pewee question

Hi, all-
Lately, where I work, I have been hearing what I am guessing to be a Pewee,
but it doesn't quite sound like one and it calls incessantly. It sounds like
"pee-eee" (with the "pee" going down and the "eee" coming back up). The bird
makes the sound CONSTANTLY with only a 1 or 2 second break between calls, and
it seems to do this ALL DAY LONG. Whenever we walk by it, we hear it. I even
saw it today - it acts like a flycatcher, and we have had Pewees nesting there.
So, the question is - is this an immature E. Wood-Pewee doing this, or is
it an unusual (and sometime irritating) adult? I have never heard a Pewee act
or sound like this before. It never makes the typical "pee-a-wee" sound or the
down-slurred "peee." Only what I described. Any help would be appreciated.
Please respond off the listserve. Thanks.
