Hello all
Yesterday Pat & I made a special trip to Richmond to visit with her daughter &
the new arrival of the grand baby ( a boy ) . Before going to see the little
one , we made an early trip to Henricus Park to see what birds were around on a
somewhat hot July day . The birds of the day were an Imm. Least Bittern ,
Osprey , & a Chimney Swift on nest in the first thatch roofed building before
you get to the garden plot . Below is a list of birds seen or heard .
Least Bittern -- 1 from the first platform
Great Blue Heron
Green Heron
Black Vulture -- seen from 1st platform at least 75 birds

Osprey -- 7
Red shouldered Hawk
Red -- Tailed Hawk

Chimney Swift -- Nest in thatched roofed buildings chimney . Photographed
Red headed Woodpecker -- heard one from 1st platform
Red -- bellied -- 1 Imm.

Acadian Flycatcher -- 2 or 3 birds heard
