[va-bird] Culpeper County Dickcissels, Independence Day

Greetings...

At five PM on 4 July, in sweltering heat, I heard at least six and maybe as
many as ten Dickcissels calling from a field in Culpeper County.

The field is along Spring Creek Road, which is off of Route 15, 2.6 miles
from the intersection with US 29 Bypass. As soon as you turn onto the road,
you are surrounded by rich Dickcissel habitat. Also calling were Chat,
Indigo Bunting, Willow Flycatcher, Bobwhite and Orchard Oriole. I didn't
stay in the field very long.

Cheers...

Todd
