[va-bird] Louisiana waterthrush and Amelanchier trees

Yesterday the Louisiana Waterthrush turned up at my three-tiered bird bath
pools. Throughout April and May I heard the bird singing every morning at 6:30
when I went for my walk. There is a stream through my woods where it is
nesting, I am sure. I kept telling myself to go down and acutally find it but
finally the bird came to me instead. It was bobbing along the edge of the pool
picking up insects in the water.

We have two Amelanchier trees (Shadbush, Juneberry - many common names) by
the kitchen window that has been in full fruit for the past two weeks. The
birds have flocked to the trees to eat the fruit: robins, bluebirds with young,
titmice, chickadees, catbirds, Pileated Woodpecker, Red-bellied woodpecker,
Scarlet Tanager, crows, Cedar Waxwings, Phoebe, and probably others that I
missed.
