[va-bird] White-throated Sparrow in Charlottesville

Now, I don't know how common or uncommon White-throated Sparrow are during
the summer months. From my personal observations, I've never heard or seen
one during my many travels across the Commonwealth in the summer months.
Here in Charlottesville, our winter visitors usually don't show up until
very late September or early October. We have several that are seen and
observed in our downtown residential backyard late April and possibly very
first days of May, but never later.

While sitting out back enjoying a relaxing afternoon with camera equipment
at close hand. I had spotted a sparrow perched on the chain-link fence
tucked behind the raspberry canes. Facing the sun I noted it had a whitish
underside that did not appear streaked. I didn't really think anything of
it at the time. That is, not until approximately 15-20 minutes later when I
heard the song of a White-throated Sparrow coming from the adjacent back
alley.

A short while ago the sparrow returned to the same spot on top of the
chain-link fence behind the raspberry canes. There was enough of an opening
between the leaves to see most of the bird as it faced into the late
afternoon sun and I was able to get a few pics of either a very late or very
early White-throated Sparrow.
