Tried to send this this morning but had a brain, er, fade. Sorry for the
late posting.
A pleasant morning at Huntley. Highlights were hearing a barred owl; seeing
an indigo bunting and a scarlet tanager in the same tree, and great egrets
in abundance; 3 when I got there going to 8 before I left. Complete list
follows.
Great Blue Heron - three
Great Egret - eight
Green Heron - at least four
Canada Goose - duh!
Wood Duck -- two females with broods; one with seven, one with four.
Mallard
Killdeer - too many to keep track of
Osprey - two
Northern Flicker - two
Eastern Phoebe
Tree Swallow
Northern Rough-winged Swallow - one
Barn Swallow
Eastern Bluebird - one
Scarlet Tanager - one
Northern Cardinal
Indigo Bunting - one
Red-winged Blackbird - duh!
Common Grackle
