Highlight of the Cape Charles Breeding Bird Survey, run by Tom Saunders and
myself today 0510-0945, was a singing Dickcissel heard from the 'S' curve just
north of the intersection of Rte 600 (Seaside Road) and Latimer Siding Road.
The bird was on the west side of Rte 600 here. One Eurasian Collared-Dove
was recorded in Townsend, also just west of Rte 600 but farther north. New to
the BBS route were Chuck-will's-widows, Great Horned Owls, and 2 Bank
Swallows.
